Rothwell Figg Elects Michael V. Battaglia and Seth E. Cockrum to Firm Partnership

Rothwell Figg is pleased to announce that Michael V. Battaglia and Seth E. Cockrum were named members of the firm effective October 1, 2017.

Michael V. Battaglia’s practice focuses on post-grant patent proceedings, patent litigation, preparation and prosecution of U.S. patent applications, and overseeing the prosecution of foreign counterpart applications. Mr. Battaglia’s post-grant proceedings experience includes inter partes reviews, inter partes reexaminations, and ex parte reexaminations. He works primarily in the electrical, computer hardware, computer software, and biotechnology fields, but has experience working in the business method, telecommunications, and mechanical fields as well. Mr. Battaglia also has broad experience handling design patent, trademark, and copyright matters including opinion work and preparation and prosecution of design patent applications and trademark applications.

Seth E. Cockrum’s practice covers all aspects of patent law, including district court and appellate litigation, post-grant proceedings before the United States Patent Trial and Appeal Board, opinions, and counseling. Dr. Cockrum’s litigation practice covers a diverse range of subject matter with a particular focus on Hatch-Waxman litigation. He has substantial experience with post-grant proceedings, including patent interferences, inter partes reexaminations, and inter partes reviews. In addition, Dr. Cockrum has experience in drafting and prosecuting domestic patent applications, and in overseeing the prosecution of foreign patent applications. Dr. Cockrum's technical expertise covers a wide range of chemical and life science disciplines.
